What You Will Find Here

I love to sew and craft and I love to teach others to do the things I know how to do. I love seeing someone's eyes light up as they see what they have made!
This blog will feature the things I am working on personally and professionally and will also feature tutorials for various projects.

You will also occasionally see items I've made to sell at Wonder Unders and Lewis Family Mercantile.

Enjoy browsing and please send me a note if there's anything I can do to help you in your sewing and crafting adventures!

A Baby Gift ~ Quilt and Toy

A close up of the quilt
The red is baby wale corduroy.
The back of the quilt with the toy.
It crinkles :)
And is soft on one side and fuzzy on the other.
I hope they are much loved!

I just made the *cutest* diaper!

For my sisterfriend Cathy's newest blessing!  I'm too impatient to edit so here goes!

Outer is from the Oh Boy! collection by David Walker.
It has one layer of Killington sandwiched between the woven and the Killington in the inner.  The soaker is sewn-in and is two layers of Killington and two layers of Zorb.

Yesterday's Sewing... Bags, Bags, Bags!

So yesterday I'm thinking... 'what can I make for the craft fair?' and I remember Carla recommending 'market bags' or similiar.  Something to use instead of plastic shopping bags.

So I pulled out some fabric and made these:
The first two (the bandana print) are plain, no pockets, nada.  Then when I made the other blue one I thought 'hey, I should add a pocket on the inside' so I did and then I made the sunflower one like it.  I decided to make a smaller tote bag from the sunflower print and made several pockets inside.  That gave me the idea to make one, line it and use a stabilizer to make it more like a purse :)
Just a little tour though how my mind works!  LOL
Made this one first.  Hmmm... I think the ribbon should have been higher -- or something?
Then I made this one:
Isn't she cute?  :)  She has one pocket inside.
And then I saw this pink corduroy and had to find a way to use it!
It has two pocket on the front and back.
And then this one.  I've had this fabric for a long time and I just love it!

Wasn't that a fun day of sewing?

A fun summer combo set!

This was from last summer and I just loved it!
Pic was taken before the legs were hemmed.  This was for Nehemiah.  Joseph had one with pockets on the sides.

MaryVance's peasant style dress.
Tees for Elijah and Isaac.
And I had fabric left over that I used for this dress for Macie!
I  summertime!

A Productive Week

I spent most of the week doing 'fun sewing' for an event in early March.  I had to be finished by today though...

I made the table runner just below this post, Apples & Pears.  I quilted a toddler girl quilt top but I haven't put it all together yet.  And I made two quilted pot holders but I don't have pics of those either.

I finished 15 small hairbows that were partly done already.

I made 22 pads.

I made NotPaper Towels.   Between 4 and 15 of each print.

I had already cut and Molly serged 12 sets of cloth napkins.

Oh and I painted half of the boys room -- LOL.
